Please can you help, I have recently changed the thermo switch on my 944
as the fan (singular fan no A/C ) was running on constantly a new thermo switch has sorted the run on of the fan (so it was not the relay) but the fan appears to cut in early at slow speed with the ignition off if the ignition is on the fan will run fast. The fan cuts in when the temp needle comes just above the first white line on the dial on the dash, so appears to be cutting in early?

Any thoughts?

Thanks

I'd suspect your temperature gauge as being inaccurate rather than the fan "cutting in early". 944 temperature gauges are pretty random things and few of them reflect reality.

Hi Winnie -

I would check the thermostat, or just replace it. Porsche made three types of thermostat and rad switch to work in conjunction, depending on climate (your's will be stock 'European'). Bleeding the system with the heater matrix open also may help. The fan coming on when just over the white line, however, sounds about right...
