I don't get the hype over goodridge hoses. I've had a few sets and they've been shite. The stainless over braid was poor and started to fray during fitting and the fittings were crap.
I went for some wezmoto hoses.

Hi Looking to replace my hoses for some braided jobbies, to get a better barke feel. Would normally auto pilot to goodridge, but have seen black diamond and ebc. So not sure which are best, would appreciate some input. Cheers. |

I have Black Diamond hoses on 2 cars, one of them for 2 years now and no issues. Seem to be good quality and value. With that said the rear porsche hoses I removed I decided to cut open to see how they were constructed. To my surprise they have braided core that is covered in rubber, had i known before hand I would have considered sticking to original. However, the black Diamond worked out cheaper for a complete car set. |

I fitted braided hoses, but soon scrapped them and fitted originals I'm informed that the rear hoses have to twist because of the operation of the trailing arm braided hoses are not ideal in this situation or so a well respected Indi tells me

I did as well. However, my last S2 with braided items did 20k on braided items with no ill effects, and they must now have been on for around 6 years. OTOH, I have a Mk3 Mondeo previously where the original hoses lasted 100k. The pattern ones would not even do 15k without the ends breaking apart ; the bushes etc. were fine. It's not what you want in a car where the brake and clutch fluid are shared together! For that reason alone I'd go braided unless you go for genuine hoses. I always use HEL despite the price of them but the green items look very similar to the HELs. I am sure they used to twist on the Stag as well, which had them, were I have yet to hear of a failure. OTOH I can appreciate that a well renowned Indy said that. I'll have to ask my local indy as well who is also known in the 944 circles  . Surely they will twist on any car with a MacPherson strut arrangement as below as well to some extent.
