Great pics!

Obviously a new lighting wiring harness etc for the old to do these mods?

no new harness for me, existing wires can handle LED's easier than with standard bulbs.....headlights have built in fans that came with the bulbs...all the others are standard 382 fittings, still need to do the indicators though as they need either a resistor to get the correct the flash timing or a purpose built relay, I'll probably source the relay to avoid heat from resistors.

The CANBUS bulbs I got for the reverse lights should work fine in the indicators as they have resistors built in,

over 500lm for the reverse lights,

Thanks for the heads up...I wasn't familiar with the term 'canbus error free'...now that I am I have ordered some bulbs although picked something a little cheaper, spent far too much on the car in recent years, today's spending on top of the bulbs includes a clutch master cylinder and clutch hose, my son will fit and supply some new fluid...

many thanks

Pete

I rebuild the Cylinders, 14 quid for the kit, and a quick whizz with a bore hone to smooth them out,

and a quick Go Compare "Fantastic" back to new condition

Although I haven't taken a close look at the master cylinder yet, I do suspect from what happened to the last one that the inner bore has worn unevenly and thus not serviceable. I'm not loosing any fluid but there is a distinctive sticking point that can keep the pedal from raising fully, it's towards the upper part of the pedal movement. So new cylinder is in order and the hose has signs of the inner hose breaking down allowing fluid to move (albeit a very small amount) to the outer sleeve so that will be done at the same time. I'm hoping that the slave cylinder is ok, think it was the last part of the system replaced before so fingers crossed it's still good enough when compared to newer parts in the system.

Oh...btw I took a punt on these T10 sized canbus error free LED bulbs to see if they will work/fit the side repeaters..very cheap so worth a try. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/291738476537? ... EBIDX%3AIT

Having read up a little on this now it seems that there's no gaurantee which bulb will work as each car manufacturer uses different systems that can stop canbus error free LED indicator bulbs from working if too low a wattage draw, it can even vary for cars of the same model from the same year?...A little R&D ahead I think if the bulbs I've ordered don't work on my car...they are cheap so it won't be too big a hit if I've bought the wrong ones...:)

They should work fine, the cars of our age don't care about CANBUS

If you want to use them for the indicators buy a electronic flasher unit they will work then

I had some of these in another vehicle and they literally vibrated apart.

thanks for the info...they are very cheap so worth a try, plus plenty of spares. if one does fall apart I'll use it as an opportunity to make it stronger...

cheers
