Guys, I finally got around to replacing the dash strip and clock bulb this weekend - all went well other than the fan speed knob disintegrated when I pulled it off! I've pinged an email to my OPC but thought Id ask on here if anyone has a decent want or knows a good source. Many thanks. |

OK thanks. £10 not too bad. I saw Frazerpart have them at £21 !! I guess a used one may be just as brittle as mine was so new would be best. Lets see what my OPC says. |

I do have an A/C joint block with the push buttons and sliders, no turny knobs, if anybody wants it. Dave CT |

Just picked one up from my OPC - it was on the shelf and cost £17.70 ! Still cheaper than others I have seen. Ian |

So now its fitted, I noticed the fan only comes on at full speed - the other positions don't do anything. Any pointers on where to start? Ian |

The fan resistor in the top of the air box needs a clean, vinegar or coke is the stuff |

Thanks Waylander, By "air box", I assume you mean the fan housing under the bonnet - I guess under the black plastic cover right in front of the windscreen? According to PET there is a "Ballast Resistor" in there. |

Waylander, many thanks for the steer on the fan speed. When I got the resistor out I was a little confused as to what was supposed to be there. Is that grey calcite like stuff supposed to be there ? - On mine it generally wasn't so I soaked in vinegar for a while and then carefully picked off the remnants leaving nicely separated coils. Fan now has all 4 speeds. Whilst I was under there I decided to have a go at cleaning out the screen washer jets and they now work properly as well now - result. |

It was a sort of fixative to hold the coils apart that you cleaned off no issues with that glad it worked |
