My 944 seems to be missing a few parts.

Please can anyone tell me what is supposed to fit here:

1. Air box

2. Water pump

Lastly - The windscreen washed jets do not work on my car. I can hear a pump whirring when i pull the stalk toward me, but no water. Here is a picture of what I have.

Is there a pump inside the washer fluid bottle?

1. Nothing missing there used to be a pipe from the cam belt housing to the airbox, but it was deleted very early on.
2. the water pump elbow is pretty much the same for all 8V engines. The Turbos have a opening in this elbow which goes either to the header tank or rad, can't remember exactly.
3. The water pump for the washers fits to a metal bracket attached to those two small "pips" on the water bottle. Yours looks to be AWOL, hence no washers.

I had been wondering what the purpose of that pipe was on my engine... the other end of it attaches to a flange on the belts casing right next to the upper balance belt pulley.

What is the white/black thing nestled between the headlamp motor and power steering fluid reservoir? It looks like a pump, but not stock. If you can hear it whirring, check for blockages - pull the pipe to the jets off and see if you can blow through it. As Jim says, the pump would normally mount on those two studs on the front of the tank.

certainly not stock, the original pump which fits on the two lugs on top of the forward section of the tank that you can see in the picture is pretty expensive, I've just replaced mine which I think was around £60. Looks like the previous owner found a work around...:)

This, stock pumps weren't available &/or were horrifically expensive, when mine went (every MOT had a comment about the washers!) so I got the bracket & attached a universal pump to it.
