I've had a quick search and not been able to find a lot of info on 944 seat versions. Does anyone know if early (square dash) front seats will fit in an oval dash car? Mine's a 1986 2.5 and driver's seat pretty worn so looking to replace or possibly repair. I'd read something that the runners were different but it wasn't very clear if that means they could or couldn't be fitted. It's only the front seats I need to swap, rears will remain as is. Cheers for any info. |

I did it in my 968 but its quite involved. You need to use the runners from a series two car and you will need a LHD non-adjustable passenger seat runner to go along with the RHD non-adjustable runner. Series one runners have 4x mountings whereas the series two / 968 type have 6x, with extras at the back due to the runners carrying the seat belt anchor. |

Thanks. Is it possible to swap the early seat bases/backs over onto the new runners so you don't have to mess around with the bolts etc? Just trying to work out if it's worth getting some early seats at a good price or pay for late ones that will fit more easily |

I recently borrowed an old 944 seat to use in my S2 whilst mine were away being refurbished. I had to drill the holes out a couple on millimeters to get the mounting bolts through. Other than that no problem except no seat belt stalk - which didn't matter or what I was doing. |
