The drivers side auxiliary lens (fog/main) on my 944S2 has cracked and I wondered whether anyone can help with a good used one? Cheers, Dave

A Porsche breaker should have one. While your are there - buy both sides...

Tried every breaker I know in Uk and nobody has one (or two!) plus E-Bay etc. Hoping a forum member may have one stashed away that they no longer need.

Mine got quite badly cracked about 8 years ago too. One side had a hole in it (small hole with a big fan-out on the inside) and the other side had simply cracked in two. I repaired them with some clear araldite (google it) which is the same refractive index as glass, so you can't see it when they are in contact. Make sure that the glass is completely clean before starting and hold the parts together with some tape on the outside before gluing from the inside. Put some helicopter tape on them to prevent it from happening again and let the glue set fully before putting them back on the car.

While mine don't look perfect now (it would be picked up on a concours inspection), you'd have to look to see that there was ever anything wrong.

Great tip, Oli, one to remember for the future! Mine has a simple crack across part of the lens but otherwise still intact. Ironically, the previous owner must have fitted the lens protectors (now on the car) after it happened.

Because the new ones are so extraordinarily expensive, good used ones are like rocking horse poo. New, complete light units are northwards of £300 each. If the body of the light is "OK", you can buy new glass for @£150 each.

Before parting with money for any used item, make sure the screws which hold the lens on haven't rusted solid.

Good luck with your search.

I have just bought (imported...) the Rain*X kit from the USA - it is supposed to be for windscreen stone chips/cracks etc and will probably work for front lense damage as well. I think this kit is available in the UK possibly - there is a YouTube link on the item (ie windscreen repair/Rain*x) and worth a look.

Thanks guys you've just saved me a lot of time.

One of my fog light glasses has cracked and it comes under advisories on the MOT so not too critical, after reading the above I think I'll leave it,
