hi all

I've replaced my oil cooler seals and was just about to put the OPRV back in and noticed the seal ring on the end looks a bit flat

is it meant to sit flush like this or does it need replaced ?

Hi Brian -

Does look a bit flat to me - worth replacing I would have thought, having gone the effort you have to replace the other items...

Hi Dave

thats what I was thinking. On checking the PET diagram its described as a sealing ring rather than an o ring

might order one up anyway as I want to replace the washers for the OPRV and oil pressure sender

Cheers

Brian

Best plan really, they are basically pence to replace so worth the piece of mind. The new O ring seal will be green not black in case you think you have the wrong one.

thanks for the replies

am I right in thinking there is just one seal to replace the flat black one at the narrow end of the valve, the PET diagram seems to show two ?

cheers

Brian

there is an o ring inside the valve as well but is a real pig to get to, tinny little clip at the end of the OPRV needs to come out to get it apart. I didnt risk it with mine as bound to lose the clip. Test the valve by pushing the end in with flat punch or similar, it will squirt any remaining oil out the side holes, then check it is moving freely in and out on the internal spring and not catching.
