Hi all,
I'm in the process of refurbishing my 944 S2 interior. It has Linen seats, and dark blue / linen door cards / dashboard etc. The dash, as usual is all cracked, so I've removed it and want to strip it back and recover it, so I'm looking for a supplier of a good match of dark blue vinyl. I've come across some places which sell automotive quality vinyl, but most look to blue or light in pictures. Has anyone come across a supplier that sells a good match to the really dark midnight blue Porsche used in the 944?

I'm happy to break off and send away part of my dash for matching if need be.

chris

Chris,

Have you tried Southbound Trimmers? They specialise in all Porsche interior trimming and hold a vast selection of obscure Porsche trim leathers, vinyl's and materials.
Give them a shout and see - your blue vinyl should be easy.

Southbound Trimmers, Little Dean Yard London Road, Stockbridge SO20 6EL ยท 01264 810080

Let us know how you get on, I am considering re-covering my cracked square dash with some black vinyl.

and me, someone recovered the dash in mine with a "carbon fibre" look. It reflects in the windscreen so need to get something that doesn't reflect

Thanks! I called Southbound Trimmers, they really know their stuff. He explained to me that the dash isn't covered with vinyl, but a special plastic which effectively moulds onto any shape perfectly. We spoke about the difficulties in potentially removing it, and how late oval dashes tend not to crack (I guess I've been unlucky). So he thinks my best option is to find a replacement dash in the right colours, so the search is on for one that doesn't cost a small fortune (for a dash for a 27 year old car..)

If I don't find one, it'll be back to the drawing board (and search for some marine blue vinyl I guess!)

Thanks, guess I need to find something to cover the covering just to stop the reflection
