Are they electric Harris Tweed? Might be looking for a knackered one to get recovered for my drivers seat.

If you had actual Harris Tweed on your seats, I would have swapped you a full leather set.

Has anyone tried swapping the seat covers themselves?

I won a set of leather covers made by SouthBound on Ebay and I am wondering if it is a job I can do myself, of if I need to pay someone to do it.

I'm told it's technique, plus a fair amount of strength! A trick I have been told is to cover the seat frame with a dustbin bag & slide the cover over that, then rip the bag off afterwards. Personally I've always got the pro's to do trim jobs!

If you ring round the Upholsterers you should find it's not very expensive to get them done properly. There very quiet at the moment!

I've been quoted 'about £130' to put new innards in both squabs and springs underneath. I'll be buying the new innards (or the wife will) and he'll fit them and he'll supply and fit new springs as well. He's near Knutsford, which is of no use to any of you, unfortunately.

The upholsterers I have used in the who were always very cheap quoted my £80 + vat per seat
I think this may be because I said the "P" word!

I did my own base foam which was a piece of cake. I imagine the backrest is a little more tricky, but not much. I'd definitely have a go before I paid someone else to do it anyway. Worst case you supply them with a new cover and a seat with the old cover removed.

Sould be £40 a seat max. (1 hour) If they know what there doing. Don't mention the P word!
