Hi everyone,

Looking to finally upgrade my bulbs (must be street legal!). I remember seeing a thread about this somewhere but I can't find it and the lights looked fantastic. I can freakin remember the name of the company goodybeck or something was the name. I even tried to google it and no luck.

In the meantime, I did my own research and a few review blogs recommended this company called XenonPro. i also came across a few forums (for other makes mind you) and the results seem to be really nice. i would prefer nothing from eBay as all my friends and colleagues recommend strongly against it.

if anyone can find that thread for me, share their experience with xenonpros or share another solid manufacturer it would be greatly appreciated.

As far as I am aware there are no EU or GB approved replacement H4 LED bulbs,

You can buy 7" complete led headlight units, incredibly expensive for the better ones and fitment is not straighforward but they should be legal as fitted to Land Rovers. Trucklight is one example.
The big problem with led or hid bulbs in a reflector housing is poor focus and bad scatter added to the fact that H4 is a twin filament bulb and they tend to use a solenoid arrangement to alter the focal point for dip/main operation. The led comlete headlights are fairly compact but do look a bit odd. The projector system works well but is quite bulky. The morimoto uses a shutter for dip/main and has a very sharp cut off with good focus and no dazzle. The S2 has what appears to be a nonstandard 7" unit, early 944s have a more usual headlight which may be compatable with the Land Rover type units. It took me ages to source the parts to use projectors with a lot of trial and error, but I'm very pleased with the result and no problems at MoT time so far.

I was referring to bulbs, the best you can do there is update the wiring and night breakers

I picked up an uprated H4 wiring loom from the bay of parts last week - arrived couple of days ago.

Some very naughty sellers trying to sell the exact same item for over 5 times the price...

I paid £8 and the quality is very good, thick gauge branded wires with rating on side, good quality connections and the headlight connectors are ceramic.

The weak point I suppose could be the relay's but they are replaceable so you could swap them out for better quality branded ones if you wanted.

Not going to fit it just yet as it means removing a whole load of stuff again to get to the alternator wiring (which is the best place for the positive take off).
