My S2 power rack has had it, no assistance and screeches like a banshee.

Are these things generally troublesome?

The reason for asking is I can buy a used unit for less than £100, or a recon at just over £200, and what I don't want is to end up with another duff rack, so weighing the odds up as to whether its worth going for a used unit or recon.

If they are generally regarded as reliable & trouble free I'll take the chance on a used one.

Cheers.

Pete.

Werd.

The pumps tend to leak, the racks are fairly trouble free. Don't expect light steering though, they have limited assistance compared with most other cars.

I'm tempted to say a worn belt.

As said the steerng was never light in a 944. My MG Midget had lighter steering TBH!

If you near Warwickshire I'm happy to give a second opinion :).
