 Post subject: Fitting tailgate release to an early 944

I have a 1982 porsche 944 without the tailgate release system and wonder what maybe involved to fit this?
I have the release button,the tailgate motor and the release mechanism with rods..do I need anything else and can anybody advise with wiring up please?

Oh my word - what a project! I wouldn't even attempt it. Even an original later model with it fitted is a mission to adjust, if you have to. How are going to mount the motor? The rods meet in a Z configuration behind the lock closure, which also incorporates a micro switch....etc etc

Id compromise and fit a Bowden cable pull.
