Good Morning All,
Apologies for my first post being a request for help, but I really have drawn a blank on searching for the answer for the last few days.
I have a (87) 944 Turbo which has an annoying problem. The boot release motor won't cycle. It only moves when the release button is pressed, this means that if you don't get the motor to stop in the correct place the hatch will not lock shut - so inevitably you end up using the key. (which works very well!)
So far I have, cleaned all of the locks the catches, and changed both the switch and motor with a friends car to confirm they both work.
On a separate note, when I plug the motor into the other 1987 Turbo it resets itself to the correct cycled position. In my car it does not move when connected.
I am assuming that there is a relay that controls the cycle on the motor, but for the life of me I have no idea which relay it is, or where it is - it doesn't seem to be listed anywhere
Car is too early for a microswitch to come into play.
Any help is greatly appreciated, it is really annoying and as both motor and switch are working as they should it must be either a wiring fault (I have checked wiring colours and locations in connectors on both cars) or a relay.
Thanks in advance for your help.Cheers,
Tom
