 Post subject: 84 wont start no spark!!!

As per the title, 1984 2.5 square , no spark , power to coil (strangely live both sides ? 12v) tried new coil , DME relay, dme relay jump, still not spark being produced to dizzy (from HT lead to dizzy) any ideas ????

Fuel pump kicks in so defo ignition circuit , no bounce on rev counter , any help gratefully accepted

Sounds like the ecu itself to me. Ideally, you'd want to find an early car locally and try swapping to see if that's it.

I have a spare ecu and changed no difference sadly its weird

Have you checked for a spark from the king lead to an earth or with a spark plug in its place if possible? I wonder if it is a kind lead/HT leads issue or dizzy cap problem.

hi thanks for the reply yes checked no spark from king lead , basically power going to coil but nothing coming out , checked DME (including Jumper) ecu, crank sensors , been in the fuse box tonight checking for broken cables all seems ok it a weird problem , car was running fine when parked up , only thing left to check is factory immobiliser behind radio, but am pretty sure that was removed / isolated years ago
