Post subject:  trouble fitting rear wiper motor cover

I have replaced my rear wiper motor cover as the original has a hole in it. The one I have has 2 cut outs at the rear of it to allow space to push it flush to the plate without the screws getting in the way. The replacement does not have this, even though it shares the same part number. Could anyone shed some light on why they look different and if someone has cut the original, how I am meant to fit the new one as I cannot bend the centre of the rear enough to clip it on the single clip once the 2 others have been clipped in.

Cheers.

This is the cover I have but my motor housing doesn't have those 'pins' coming from it. It has huge bolts. http://www.ebay.com/itm/PORSCHE-944-Tur ... PW&vxp=mtr

This is the type I have with the cover I was expecting to receive: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Porsche-944-198 ... kh&vxp=mtr

Notice the part number is identical for both.

Not sure why they have the same part number but as per the adverts the first one is for an early car and the second is for the later models.

Thanks for response. I queried it with the OPC and was told they have supplied it correctly as it's the only one available for my vehicle. Of course if it has the same part code then it's not exactly easy to confirm.

This situation is ridiculous and must happen on other parts as well, Porsche in their infinite wisdom have changed the design and then not changed the part number. I have an 89 2.7 which anyone would think would be the same as the 88 2.7, obviously not as it uses the parts from the 89 S2 for the rear wiper motor plate and cover.

Rubber one, please excuse me for not knowing why that's relevant.

Bridge spoiler cars have a different sized hole in the screen for the later style wiper. I think that was the reason for the question.

That's very true.

That's the one I've been supplied but the one I need has cut outs on both sides to accommodate the large bolts.
