I currently have a stanless steel front silencer but a standard rear section.

With the current ECP 20% off deal I could get a Dansk rear section for £250 delivered. My question is what difference in sound is there over the standard exhaust?

I really don't want anything loud

Mine was great, little bit rorty but not too loud & most importantly didn't drone. Also made it noticeably freer revving as well

Mine came with a Dansk rear section - unfortunately I can't compare to stock... It has a great sound next to a wall, but far quieter than I was expecting on an open road. I could definitely live with louder.

I've had 3 dansk systems all have broke within 3 months. They seem to be hit and miss some have had them for years and they've been fine and some like myself have been less fortunate. The 3 I had were awful, the fit was poor, the welding was laughable, on one the exit pipe had been welded at completely the wrong angle and partially rotated. Also made no noticeable difference to performance. I went back to a standard system that cost more, fit perfectly first time and is still going strong years and 35-40000 miles later. Oh and my dansk systems came for ecp.

Hmmmm maybe ECP have been shafted with lower quality stock?

Spend your money on a quality SS system. I defended mine for ages as others failed. Then mine cracked (mid metal, not a weld) after being on the car for 3 years.

As for sound/noise, that's personal opinion. For some they are too quiet, for others too noisy.

You're probably right, a friends husband is pretty handy at fabrication and welding, google RB Kustoms, I'm sure he could make me a rear section.

I have heard rumours that ECP simply badge up some stuff with their name on it including Pagid and even Lemforder. I know with their Lemforder arms one of them lasted 10k on my Alfa Romeo 147 when the original item did 60k. When I told a specialist he practically laughed in my face.
