Hey everyone, new member here

I've just bought my first 924 and wondered if there was a way of finding out the factory build details. Coming from the air cooled VW scene, you could get a 'birth certficate' of the car giving you all of the info on it. Do Porsche do such a thing?

Thanks!

Welcome. Porsche will do you a Certificate of Authenticity - see here:

http://www.porsche.com/uk/accessoriesan ... /documents

but there is a charge for it (£65?).

Hi James

As Jim states you can get a 'Certificate of authenticity' from PCGB which will give details of your car, it's not cheap at £65 although if you are a member it's free so may be worth joining just for that, I believe the fee is a similar price, perhaps a little more.
To show you what you get here's my own, this may help you decide if it's worth the money or not..

cheers

Pete

Smashing thanks for that.

I'll grab the chassis number when the car arrives next week and get one ordered. I may as well join the club in that case :)

It'll be quite nice as it's an Italian car originally, bit of history to go with the car.

or you could save yourself £65

If you email Marc Noack at Porsche Germany classics dept,
Marc.Noack@porsche.de

he should also be able to give you build details etc it you ask nicely' he will need the chassis number

Maybe try and use some German if you can

That's great thanks for the tip. I work with a German lady so she'll be getting tea made for her all day at work on Monday

The car doesn't arrive until next weekend, but I'll pop a photo of it up here this evening on the rides thread when I'm home.

My car is a German import, when I applied for my certificate PCUK sent me it in German as well, if you ask they may be able to produce yours in Italian as well as English. Would be nice to have :)

Always handy to know.

Do I need to pre book my car to enter the Simply Porsche show? Be rude not to put a few miles on the car

Top tip, thanks Sam! I work with an Italian too, so I'll send an email in 3 languages for them
