I'm not sure if anyone has been in the same situation as me, but I have electric drivers seat in my 944 with 3 switches, the switch which sends the seat back and forth is broken (has been since ive bought it), and in the new year I plan to attack fixing this problem. Is there anyway you can move the seat manually so I can get to the bolts which holder the runners to the floor so I can get the seat out? Thanks in advance. Dan. |

What 944 do you have? Does the motor run when you switch the go 'front to back' and no seat movement? That's the drive cable not connected. In your Porsche tool kit (if you have one) there is an allen type key socket drive that plugs into a nylon lug midway below the driver's seat. An alternative tool method will do... This will operate the fore and aft of the seat to then expose the allen bolts to remove the seat. Dave CT |

Fingers crossed that the manual drive cog has still got all its teeth... Mine had lost about half of them so winding the seat was a complete pain in the derriere.. After that I spent ages f@rting about with the seat switches trying to get them to work - they are complete @rses too - before deciding to pull the motors themselves out of the seat base. If you're careful you can disassemble the motor and as it turned out mine were clagged up with all kinds of junk, from old grease to rust which was stopping the armature from rotating. Once it was all cleaned up the armatures were freed up and all was well .. |

Greggars has a few good pointers. The motor wirings under the seat are connected to each motor by connector blocks. Check each one, you may be lucky that the one you want is loose... Dave CT |
