I have an annoying rattle / creak coming from the top of the windscreen area.

I've removed the visors and trim to see if anything obvious but there isn't. I'm pretty confident it is windscreen related because if I pull on the rear view mirror mount the noise dramatically reduces. It's not the mirror itself making the noise though.

I'm tempted to peel back the rubber seal to see if there's anything obvious, is this a sensible idea? The seal itself appears quite new and flexible. I read about an issue like this on a different porsche model and there was a fix available.

Any views or experience on this issue?

Cheers

What years your car?

As the early ones had a seal that holds the windscreen in where as the later ones the seal is only a trim as the screen is bonded in.

Have you any water leaks in the front? Is it possible the screen has not bonded correctly?

pull the seal strip out and go for a drive, my 68 made a lot of noise from that area and the local OPC gave me some Teflon tape to put around the body under the seal, made a huge difference.

apparently they have had this issue with other models and that's why they had the tape

Thank you, I will give that a try. I have this noise and the rear wheel bearing drone to sort then I should be noise-free!
