I have taken the ash tray tray out to either a: improve it? b: convert it to something more useful (cup /phone holder?) but weirdly there is a light bulb underneath. What purpose can that have when there is a solid ash tray thingy above it? alex |

I'm going to ditch my ashtray and stick a small panel in there with replacement switches for my seat... |

A replacement unit with an iPhone or Android phone holder and charger connection would be amazing. Someone must make them somewhere. |

All phones are getting to big for that space now. Simple to make your own. Cut the lid out off ash tray keep the frame, Glue your phone packaging from the box under frame. |

Back in the day the ashtray used to be the preferred place for fitting a manual boost controller on turbo's...mine is currently back as Porsche intended but I'm sure I'll find another use for it next year when I re-cover the console and dash in leather. i'm running out of places for gauges anyway so I suspect one may end up here...not sure which yet ...it will be a digital type that's for sure...
