Ok , so I've discovered where the clunk and backlash has come from in my S2 Cab!!Had the clutch replaced some 9 years ago and assumed that they would have put an all steel plate in rather than the cush drive - WRONG!!
Not a problem , got an nice new sachs steel clutch to go in there. Will replace the pilot bearing and rear crank seal whilst I'm there. However , the clutch fork seems to be fairly worn. It's NLA from Porsche , so what are the alternatives?Does anybody do a rebuilt one , or do I get a good secondhand one or live with the one I've got.Bearing in mind that this original has done nearly 250k , is it going to wear through and fail? It's worn down by a millimetre or so on the face , are they likely to fail completely?

It looks like the original is worn through the case hardening and will wear faster. I'd put in a good secondhand one.
