I have an 86 944 manual car and an 87 944 auto car. The manual car has a salvage title and needs extensive body work. The auto car has no transmission and the engine has not run in decades. The body is in good shape and can be refinished easily enough.
Is it possible to put the engine, transmission etc. into the automatic car. Both cars have the top mount transmission.
Can I swap all the Manual stuff into the Automatic car.
I read some posts that say don't go there and some that say it can be done. Seems like the top mount car is different than the earlier cars; it looks simple. Do they just not fit?
Both cars are destined to be parted out if I can't pull this off.
I drive a 1986 n/a all original car with 237.000 miles on it. I have 40 years experience as well. I am trying to save one of these cars.

Please serious advice or resources only.
