i've only had this car 10 days and didn't expect to replace both cills (i don't suppose it'll be the last time!)

just though some pics might be of interest

i've added some drain/rustproofing injection holes to the inner cill cavity, as you can see above

thats all the cutting away of metal done

my advice is to really thoroughly clear all underseal etc away from the torsion bar mounting area, so it can be re-treated properly

also got rid of all those studs sticking down (for Turbo body kit?)

one other thing, the front suspension reinforcement panel was also quite corroded, here

Pump it full of Dinitrol when you're done.

question:on mine, the torsion bar mounting bracket did not seem to be welded to the cill (the screwdriver can lever away the sheet metal

should it be welded to that part of the cill which i've just repaired?

(Although the bracket does have a short tack weld at its rear face here, bad pic:

I have just replaced my sills and i dont think the inner is welded to the suspension mount you show, when i cut mine open at this area it seemed to be separate but the small gap between them was full of seam sealer.

thanks for confirmation...i think the tack is to steady the cill end, as there's little strength in it
