i've only had this car 10 days and didn't expect to replace both cills (i don't suppose it'll be the last time!) just though some pics might be of interest Attachment: sept15 011 (Small).jpg [ 43.55 KiB | Viewed 4326 times ] Attachment: sept15 012 (Small).jpg [ 43.8 KiB | Viewed 4326 times ] Attachment: sept15 015 (Small).jpg [ 33.63 KiB | Viewed 4326 times ] i've added some drain/rustproofing injection holes to the inner cill cavity, as you can see above Attachment: sept15 022 (Small).jpg [ 39.66 KiB | Viewed 4326 times ] thats all the cutting away of metal done my advice is to really thoroughly clear all underseal etc away from the torsion bar mounting area, so it can be re-treated properly also got rid of all those studs sticking down (for Turbo body kit?) one other thing, the front suspension reinforcement panel was also quite corroded, here Attachment: sept15 013 (Small).jpg [ 50.22 KiB | Viewed 4326 times ] i'm have cut the cill 10 mm below the door line and that is where i will butt weld (or slight overlap)new one |

Pump it full of Dinitrol when you're done. |

yes just in time....... repairs butt welded in Attachment: sept15A 002 (Small).jpg [ 37.11 KiB | Viewed 4154 times ] and Attachment: sept15A 003 (Small).jpg [ 38.46 KiB | Viewed 4154 times ] question:on mine, the torsion bar mounting bracket did not seem to be welded to the cill (the screwdriver can lever away the sheet metal Attachment: sept15A 001 (Small).jpg [ 47.29 KiB | Viewed 4154 times ] should it be welded to that part of the cill which i've just repaired? (Although the bracket does have a short tack weld at its rear face here, bad pic: Attachment: sept15A 004 (Small).jpg [ 20.18 KiB | Viewed 4154 times ] |

I have just replaced my sills and i dont think the inner is welded to the suspension mount you show, when i cut mine open at this area it seemed to be separate but the small gap between them was full of seam sealer. |

thanks for confirmation...i think the tack is to steady the cill end, as there's little strength in it |
