the fuel pipes on my 87 Lux are corroded just after they turn upwards behind the rear seat pan...the rest of the pipes forward are fine....i'll thinking of cutting the pipes here



where they turn 45 degrees under the floor and running to the filter in braided hose, but this will mean compression fittings sited under the floor where they may get "caught"...its too congested after the pipes turn upwards behind the torsion bar.....any ideas?

Hi, I cut mine just where you mention and then took them to Pirtek who made up hoses using compression fittings. Fitted great .

did you run the hoses under the torsion bar housing? or over the top? did you have chunky compression fittings below the floor?

Over the torsion bar following original routing and compression fittings below the floor before the 90 degree. I'll try and post a photo for you. On the fuel return pipe tie a length of stout string/rope to the end before you remove it from the top to help guide the new hose back up to the tank if you are replacing this one.

Hope this picture helps. Hose is rated to 28psi and as Porsche go from steel to rubber just after the rear beam it shouldn't be a problem.

Looks very close to sheet metal crease/fold in that pic.

i think i'll try and get a solid 90 deg swept elbow on each end to reduce any possibility of damage
