Post subject: | Porsche immobiliser |
The immobiliser has packed up on my 1989 s2 cab. I have a small radial pin tumbler key which I'm told is the original immobiliser bypass key? Does anyone have any idea how this works/ where it is located. I seem to have taken most of the car interior apart and not found anything like a key way. Any help would be appreciated - as I need to get the car to Banbury to have the old system removed and a new one fitted before the decent weather finishes and I take my frustration out on the dog! Thanks Barry |

I didn't get any responses - so ended up low loading the car to Banbury. That was a job too - as the tow eye hole was rusted up and could only screw it in one half turn! Anyway, after some fiddling, scraping and plenty of WD40, it screwed in 80% and worked fine. Apparently, the original 25 year old Porsche immobiliser was a four circuit unit and was located under the passenger seat - the only place I didn't look! The new unit is fitted and works fine, but cost £370 including vat and labour. |
