Post subject:  Gearbox Specialist - Herts/Beds/Cambs
I think my synchromesh between 1st and 2nd is wearing out. No grinding noises but its hard to make the gear change. I'm going to replace the linkages but if this didn't solve the problem are there any gearbox specialists in the Herts/Beds/Cambs area that could recondition the box with new syncromesh gears and bearings? I could just swap the box but you don't know what you'd be getting and mine has an LSD.

Would any gearbox specialist be able to tackle this or would it need to be one that deals with Porsches? Is the 944 box even a Porsche box?

they are a Getrag Gearbox Very similar to Audi 80-100 if you find a specialist for those they might be able to help

mine was a bit duff between 1st - 2nd rebuilt all the gear linkages and used rose joints now seems to be much better
