I have removed both door b post vents today to check corrosion to my inner sills and with the aid of my torch I am quite pleased that they dont appear to be too bad. There is very light corrosion on the 0/s and on the n/s I may have a little more to attend to but only at the inner rear wheel arch end. I wonder if there maybe some spray rust preventer/sealer that I can use to spray through the vent hole to stop things getting worse as there appears to be no way to get inside to rub down etc and as it is pretty solid at the moment . |

May sound a silly question but if I spray over the rust (not heavy and solid)would it seal and protect against getting worse than it is now? 944BLOKE wrote: I ve heard Chemwax is the best.Dont know where to get it though.Dinitrol is supposed to be pretty good too, waxoyl not as good.I keep checking mine in the same areas and so far so good!!

I ve sprayed waxoyl on some rusty areas of my old Volvo 240 estate and it does seem to keep it in check, messy though! I put some Kurust on first, that turns it black and there is no sign of any new rust after six months or so! |

The product that appears to win all of the tests is Bil Hambers Hydrate 80 Link here:- http://www.bilthamber.com/hydrate80.html In fact Paul &I have a 5 Litre tub awaiting application! I had Waxoyl on the TR7 applied professionally after it's rebuild & it seemed OK, but certainly didn't last too well underneath. |

Yep! its messy stuff and only really puts off the inevitable for a while. But once the metal is renewed, thats the time to use the Chemwax apparently! |

http://www.before-n-after.co.uk/ I was considering using these guys next year. I know its a relatively easy job spraying stuff but it seems really messy and this lot do seem to know what they are doing. I got the link from somewhere else, PH probably, and people were saying nice things about the service. |
