I have tried to email my local Porsche dealer to try order one of the circular discs that the rear view mirror slots into, but they clearly don't want such a small order  Does anyone happen to have one they're willing to sell, or know of a Porsche dealer willing to sell me one? I also found it quite tricky to find the part number for. |

part number is 477 845 043 £9.79 don't buy the glue from OPC its £128 a tube you can order by phone from Steve Mathiot at east London OPC he posts me out all sorts of little bits and bobs |

I have the same ish problem. My rear view mirror has come off, but the metal coin piece is still attached to the screen. I have a metal clip still attached to the mirror. CanI just glue the mirror onto the metal coin, or should my thoughts be elsewhere? Ta |

I have no idea how they fit, not managed to break mine yet but im sure the day will come, I manage to break almost everything else |

To remove the interior mirror on Porsche 944, you will need: Mallet Flathead screwdriver Pliers Place the tip of the Flathead screwdriver against the bottom of the mirror mount on the front windshield. Hold the screwdriver at an angle that is parallel to the front windshield. Tap the base of the Flathead screwdriver with a rubber mallet. Gently so you do not ruin the mirror mount piece or break the plastic. Continue tapping the mirror mount until the mirror slides off. Remove the mirror and set it aside. Remove the metal puck within the mirror back by grasping it with a pair of pliers and pushing it downward out of the base of the mirror mount. Reinstall the puck into the mirror mount by inserting the metal ring into the base of the rearview mirror. Use the screwdriver and mallet combination to "tap" the puck into place if it is difficult to slide. Place the mirror above the metal bracket on the windshield. Pull downward until the mirror slides on the bracket and effectively "snaps" into the correct place. Check to make sure you secured the mirror properly by moving it around. I used rear-mirror glue from Halfords. Did the trick on my 968. |

It can generate enough heat as it sets to crack the glass. |

Hi Folks - I tried removing my rear view mirror with a soft hammer and subsequently a huge split ran down the glass!! Fortunately my insurance paid for the damage (my original 'screen was quite pitted). However, the new one came with the mirror 'lug' on it so had to fit the Porsche mirror back. I would have preferred not, as a decent Ford (yes I know...) pad sticker mirror would have been better, if the lug mount wasn't integral with the new screen... DG CT SA |
