Post subject:  I need a car cover, any recommendations?

I need a cover for my car. I start work pretty early and on the days I'm driving my car in to work I swap it round with my daily the night before so I don't wake everyone up getting it out of the garage.
I like to keep it clean and tend to wash and polish it the night before also. Problem is, it's a little dusty round my way and when I get to it in the morning it looks filthy. Also the last few times some airborn crap machine has dumped its load on the bonnet.
Can anyone recommend a decent cover? I think a breathable version might be best for a cabriolet but I'm not sure.

Many thanks,

Neil

I've just bought the Stormshield Plus from Specialised Covers and whilst not cheap the fit is brilliant as its tailor made for thr shape. It was on for a week whilst I was away and the car was still clean and dry when I removed it despite there being plenty of rain. I bought it because it was getting covered in tree sap everyday.

Wow that cover looks fantastic but it's way too much money for me and probably a little over the top for what I need.
I'll use it while it's in the garage for long periods as well. I'd like something soft to protect the paint but waterproof enough for an overnight stint with the elements.

I don't have a garage but despite a drive that can accommodate 8 cars I cant build a carport or garage due to a change of use planning permission from a few years back. So I was prepared to fork out on a decent cover!

Hi Neil
I can recommend the voyager cover
When I had 944 used to keep it outside & this cover was great
Had pockets for mirrors & underbody straps so fairly snug fit
I got mine from eBay 2nd hand for £70.
Keeps motor clean, dry and muck free

Cheers steve

Thanks Steve, I think you could right.
I keep coming back to that one when I'm searching T'interweb. I originally wanted the Sahara for the winter months spent inside the garage but the more I've used the car this year the more I realise I need an all rounder.
If there are no other suggestions then I suspect that will be the one.

Hi
Only one thing should have mentioned
Even when straps fastened underneath when it was really windy it used to blow about and set off my security light sensor- silly thing to mention but when your in bed & light keeps going on and off p;@£/s you off
Ended up turning light off eventually
Anyway, that aside a good quality cover
Cheers steve

Steve, quick question on the Voyager cover.
What's the inner material like, did you notice any fibres left behind?
Because mines a cabriolet I don't want to brush the roof off every time after I've removed the cover.
Thanks,
Neil

Hi
From what I remember the inside material is slightly softer, just the same as exterior but without the protective waterproofing
It's probably better to look on Internet & view cover and full description
I only put the cover on when the car was cleaned so not trapping in dirt. When removed the bodywork was unmarked
Mine used to leak through the rubber seals on the rear hatch which is why I got it
Hope this helps
Cheers steve
