Hi Guys, my 89, 944 has never held battery power for any real length of time, usually around 3-4 days before she struggles to start, she had a brand new battery purchased in February, also if I have the boot lid open for any longer than around 20 mins then she goes flat which is just a little annoying, anyway tonight whilst sitting in the car park at work, lights off, I had the cd player of for a little while & yup !... she was virtually flat, had to wait three hours for relay to turn up, he jumped the battery & whilst he was there I got him to check the alternator voltage going to the battery, it turns out im only getting just over 12V even when revving it up, but the Volt meter on the gauge shows 14V ??. so am I looking at a replacement alternator ? & if so where's the best place to get one & are they the same across the 944 range please ?, cheers, Tony

take it off, and take it to a auto electrical place and have it rebuilt and 85-100 depending on where you take it.

there is a good place in Harlow if that's not to far for you
