Hi you knowledgeables
When checking over engine I saw that a sensor looked broken with wire part detached from bit in engine. It was the top sensor in front of intake to engine cylinders.

what does this sensor do, how do I replace it, or should I go to my friendly Porsche specialist??

would it account for a non-start recently?

The pic is a bit too closeup for me to identify exactly where it is but it certainly looks like the temperature sensor that controls the auxiliary coolant pump for the turbocharger.

Every time you switch the engine off, this pump circulates coolant through the turbo for a minute. If it is incredibly hot after a very hard drive, then this sensor makes the pump run for longer until it has cooled down within parameters.

Porsche would be your best bet for a replacement part
