Is it possible to open the balance shaft housing to replace the rear seal/o ring without taking off the front of the housing?

If so that saves me a whole load of pain due to taking off the belts and pulleys etc.....

Thanks

Can seal over the rear plug with some rvt. Deal with the issue at a time that suits

Ok some progress............

Going to replace the rear seal on the balance housings.

Belts and pulleys off.
Rear of belt cover off.

Lower balance end cap mount off.

The main oil seal for the balance shaft comes out in the end cap still holding the top hat bearing in situ.

Now I know I need to replace the mylar washer and the O ring, but what about the main seal? It is in perfect condition and upon reinstall the balance shaft slides through the top hat.

Opinions? The seal is new.

Thanks
