I am seeing 924's and 944's everywhere these days.
At the Goodwood Festival of Speed I watched this fine car speed up the hill and got a chance to see it in the pits too.

I was doubly lucky to have my daughter drive me up the hill in Porsche GB's 911 Targa 4 and if that was not enough on the Sun she also took my wife up the hill in a Porsche Cayenne boasting 560 bhp!
Seemed surreal watching my little girl interview Sir Jackie Stewart on the big screen.

It was my 64th birthday on sunday and I was spoilt rotten :D

I remember back in the early 80's a friend would hire Goodwood and invite loads of friends to play (pre trackday era). My car then was a Triumph Stag and someone turned up with a Carrera 924 GT and it wiped the floor with all and sundry. 8)

If I have inserted the pics correctly, I think this is the car and this is the man himself from Goodwood this year:

What a great event if a little crowded!

Cheers

I dont think it ran every time but I did see it go up on the Sun.
I did not get to take a picture though.

Believe it or not when you are involved by just being a passenger you find you have much less time to see everything, but when your little girl is the driver you dont mind a bit :D

I was totally puzzled by the startline marshal who evil eyed my crash helmet saying "it has not been scrutinised and has no sticker you cannot use it". I did last year and anyway the prewar types only wear cloth or leather helmets while perched high up with no safety at all. I am in a modern car with air bags and crash zones plus we are not being timed so not really competing. But as with all things he has the power so no argument and we grabbed one that had all the stickers.
