Hi,
91 plate 944 S2 cab alarm won't stop going off and is triggering the immobiliser. I can't start it although the car turns over and the alarm just won't stop even when using the small immobiliser chip key. I've joined the RAC so can only get it towed to a 10mile radius from home which is in Hackney. Need a good recommendation on who to go to and what the issue might be. I have swapped the battery for a brand new heavy duty one and the problem is still there...help!!

Thanks

The general consensus on such issues seems to be fit an aftermarket Thatcham 1... more reliable and possible reductions in insurance premiums. I had a Toad Ai606 fitted in my 968 for around £220 iirc a year ago....

JMG Porsche fits quite a few of these.... this previous post may help http://forums.tipec.net/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=15155&hilit=toad

Good luck!

Hi

Finally got my car to a garage to fix a lot of stuff - the alarm I had was an old Scorpion one???

Anyway new alarm and immobiliser being fitted.

I need a good stereo with speakers & Bluetooth next - any recommendations?

Thanks again!

My car had the remains of one of those and there's still evidence of messed-up wiring left behind. I've kept the sticker in the window - it's probably the only useful part.

I'll be interested in this too, though I'm not bothered about replacing the speakers. I want bluetooth and Android connection, not bothered about a CD player, unsure whether it's worth going for a digital receiver. One of the cheaper Sony models (DSX A60BT) seems to have a built-in mike - I'm a bit sceptical about that - any views ?
