Mine was a bit hit and miss, but replaced cables and rear springs and perfect

The problem I’ve got on mine is that the o/s wheel works bu the n/s one doesn’t. Lie under the car and you can see the o/s cable moving and working and see the spring where the two cables are connected, moving. You can’t see the n/s cable moving at all … but you can ‘feel’ something happening if you grip it. It’s maybe seized …

With the drum surface not being used as a brake in itself, they corrode and pit with not being used. If you drive along with the handbrake lightly on to polish the surfaces up, they work a fair bit better.
