Post subject:  Equivalent value

I just read a really interesting historic article written in 1986 discussing the newly launched 944Lux vs the first gen 944 and the 944 turbo. The price when new for 944 Lux in 1986 was £18,234. I've just found a link that is able to do a comparison check of cash values from history to present day:

£18,234 is equivalent to £49,404..... Scarey thought!

That makes my Turbo just shy of £100,000, which explains why it costs a fortune to run...

Puts my turbo at £121,950!! And if you reverse back house values a detached 4 bed house in a decent area could have been purchased for the cost of the car in 1989! As much as I am happy with the value of my turbo increasing of late, I would rather be sitting on the value of the 4 bed detached house!
