Hi,

My S2 has a slight judder when driving at 2000 rpm, this is in any gear!. I have checked the rotor arm and distributor cap, these are worn after 95k and I will replace them.
Is there any other item(s) that might need sorting :? , on acceleration its fine :D like s*** of a chrome shovel.

Cheers

Very sensitive to ignition especially plugs. Also the bits you mentioned. Also sign of the Air Flow Meter dying, unfortunately the best way of finding out is substitution & they're around the 200 quid mark.

Mines doing this and Jim is prolly right about the AFM. However it might be worth having a go at some diagnostics if you're handy with a MM.

Is the car also running rich?

The plugs are good and are the right colour, its just on the side of rich and has a more of a drinking problem than my old 2.5 Lux. I will change the rotor and cap before the air flow meter due to the cost :o

Another vote for AFM, though when mine did it and I though that that was the cause it actually much improved through use and cleaning stuff up - especially the idle stabilising valve strangely enough.

I've just spent the day tuning mine up. A brand new rotor arm, cap, leads & plugs and she's running much more clockwork I have to say, and the vibe at 2000rpm is very much diminshed. As Jim will tell you theses cars are very sensitive to plugs etc.
