Post subject:  Question about 944S radiator grille

I've got a 1988 944S, and my question is this: is there supposed to be a grille protecting the radiator in the space below the number plate, as indicated in the picture? I've never had one on my car, but since I just had the radiator replaced I'm keen to protect it from flying stones. I've found a 944 radiator grille on eBay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Porsche-924-944-Front-Radiator-Grill-Grille-944-559-135-00-/131512610713?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item1e9ec32f99, but I'm not sure it'll fit my car. Any advice would be most welcome.

Nope & never seen one. Unlike 986/996 etc. 944s don't normally suffer an issue with stones or leaves.

No grill on a 944. That's off a 924S, hence the 944 part number. I presume that its similar to the 924 part, although Ive never compared them.

Ive messaged them so that they can amend their advert. People breaking 944s are usually convinced that they know more than me though, so I expect that someone will be disappointed.

Many thanks for the prompt advice! I'll give that part a miss then. I'm trying to keep everything on the car as close to original as possible, so I don't want to bodge in a non-standard part.
