 Post subject: cruise control help

I have an early model 944 automatic it has this cruise control fitted but I press the buttons and nothing happens can anybody help me out with some things I can check out to see if I can get her up and working

I had cruise control fitted to one of my later cars, it looked nothing like the pictures you've posted. Also going by the sticker the English address would make me believe its an after market addition.

Hi Alz it was on the order sheet when car was new so not sure if it's been changed would be great to get her going mind

I agree with ALZ1933. I've seen several 944s with cruise control and that doesn't look like the unit Porsche use. An internet search for "Econocruise" identifies them as part of the "AE Group", a no-longer-trading, after-market manufacturer of cruise control units and speed-limiters for commercial vehicles.

The Porsche under-bonnet unit looked physically different and driver control was by means of a steering column mounted stalk.

Thanks Glen I Googled it also looks like they closed up few years ago so I'll have to search to see if there are any places repairing them thanks
