Given my recent flurry of new topics, you can maybe all tell that I've spent a few days investigating electrical issues on my '84 944
So I eventually turned to the radio, which seems to be permanently live (even with the key out of the ignition). I suspected issues, as the Sunroof/radio relay socket for pin 1 is permanently live, even with the relay removed. On pulling the radio out, this is what I found :
So someone has scotchlocked together the permanent and switched live feeds; not surprising that the amps are escaping. When separated, the ignition feed wire gets no power when the ignition is switched on. Now according to my wiring diagram (Part III, columns 4-6) there should be a "Radio relay" somewhere. Anyone know exactly where this relay should be ?
I suspect that the (removed) alarm installation might have messed with the ignition wiring. Any other thoughts ?
