The gear in my odometer (the one driven by the worm on the motor) has disintegrated. It's so bad that I'm not sure how many teeth it had. The most common for sale appears to be the 20/21 tooth gear. Is this likely to be correct for my early Oval dash? Am I going to have to order from the 'states or is there a UK supplier nowadays?

Thx.

Hi White -

I had to replace my gear drive also - Pelican Parts would be your best bet. They have a 'check' list to fit all Porsche types, however the 944s have an od cog of 20. The inner cog is based on your mph/kph. ie my speedo reads kph, so the inner cog is 23. The price I paid from PP was $25 plus postage. Just ask them to post it in an A4 Jiffy Bag. See my icon for a pic...!

Hope this helps...

That could be a fix that I need to do too. Is it similar for the speedo too as mine's stopped working as well!

My speedo didn't work either, it was the pins on the gearbox speed sensor connector covered in green corrosion. Cleaned them up and it was fine.

Just to confirm. Fitted a 20/21 gear. All sorted.
