So, I've had a squeaky roof for a while and solved the worst of the noise by lubricating one of the microswitches in the RHS hinge. Recently the LHS started to do the same - or so I thought, but with the sun coming out yesterday I put the roof down and it's still squeaking!

It's like a chirruping noise coming from the front left corner of the cabin - is this scuttle shake??

Mine didn't do that, so I don't think its scuttle shake.

take the rubber trim off from around the windscreen and see if that shuts it up

So ... the 64k question.

What does scuttle shake sound like - or is it a silent affliction?

scuttle shake is a motion / action not a noise..........................

its as the front of the car flexes around due to all the missing metal

It's probably the rubber that seals the quarter light on the door against the windscreen frame.

You sure its not a nest of sparrows in the glove box?

Seriously, as above - I'd agree door hinges and/or latch could be the culprit.

You'd laugh about the nest, although during the restoration I did find a little mouse house up by the vacuum reservoir....
I used to feed it dog biscuits in the hope it wouldn't eat anything else like wiring.

Then I put the trap in ....

A bit late, but did you find your squeak in the end?

Mine is driving me crazy - it does sound like a nest of sparrows in the glove box. On a flat road it's fine, but the moment it starts getting a bit bumpy it starts squeaking something terrible.

Also mine seems to be much worse in the dry than in the wet.

I'm about to embark on the adventure to eliminate this, so I'll report back if I have any success.
