I have lindsey stage 2 - dual port wastegate / chipset and manual boost black knob which i could get 1.6 bar on external guage not dash guage but i removed mbc knob and fitted greddy profec spec 1 (old type just knobs not digital) and on max setting can only get 1.4 bar highest boost

looking to see if others have used the greddy electronic boost controller and what your getting.....

Are you running the stock turbo? It simply won't hold that level off boost. With my apexi I tried increase the duty, which close or open the waste gate and couldn't get more then 1 bar or 1.2 @ red line with 26/8.

Is the car slower now? Are your gauge and controller taken boost pressure from the same place?

Without touching any boost pipe or intake hoses swap back see what happens, this will should if you have a boost leak.

T3rra - yes stock turbo, i will swap back to manual bc some evening this week and see if it was as before, without disturbing things.
My Bum dyno says im a little slower but maybe because electronic controller lets boost build smoother and not all in a big 1980s shove.

Now are you saying 1.4/1.6 over atmospheric, which would be 2.4/2.6 or only the lower figures? The dash gauge reads including atmospheric so 1.6 is only 0.6 boost. Stock setup is 0.8 over atmospheric.
If the upper figures then that's alot and you'll need more expensive bits!

The profec B instuctions show a less than optimal way of plumbing in the boost controller solenoid which pretty much runs the wastegate in a single port mode.

This is a tricky boost controller to set up on the 944 turbo to get good results, but you should be able to get and hold 1.2 bar even on a K26/6 that an 86 turbo left the factory with, however at that boost the turbo is often developing more heat than the additional boost is benefiting you with, however in short bursts the intercooler will heat soak that extra heat.. (in other words in a 1st, 2nd and 3rd gear pull up to the red line you might be ok, but in 4th and 5th the inlet temps will begin to soar.. but that will see you knocking on the door of 170mph so it might not be something you will get into)

Anyway, the greddy is a bit of an art form to plumb in right and set up right.. not the kind of thing which is easy to draw a diagram of or describe, but something a couple of my chaps in the workshop and I do almost automatically.. If you are anywhere near our workshop and we were not busy, especially on a saturday morning, we would probably sort it out for you for a bag of bakery donuts (old fashioned ones with granulated sugar on the outside and jam on the inside, supermarket and krispy cream ones are not legal tender in the JMG workshop!... Double sausage and egg McMuffins are though.. but bring lots of them)

If I'd known that I could pay you in jam doughnuts and McMuffins then you'd have done all my work, Chunky :D
