Thought i'd post this on here as well for you 924/944/968 people who aren't on 968 UK:

Chatting to Ben Demetriou over the past few weeks for some more and much needed driver advice and track training as always we got onto the subject of racing and 968's and it just so happens that he had some hot of the press news.

Anyone who has been on the 968uk forum a year or more will remember Paul Follett and his Orange 968 race car, Paul went from being a 968 owner, to track day driver to fully fledged Club Championship racer in but a few years and very successful he was to.

Well Paul's old car is being entered into the Dunlop Britcar 24 hour race, and he's one of the drivers! As is Jonathan Evans (who bought the car from Paul and then raced it), probably the 968's most famous driver in the Championship Ben Demetriou (2009 Class 1 winner in.......... yup a 968) as well as Alex from EMC - what a line up and I think it's fantastic news that a 968 will be racing in such a prestigious and high ranking Motorsport event.

Sadly I think this will be almost a last hurrah for the 968 in this level of motorsport, I for one will be going to see it, whatever the cost and lack of sleep! Porsche World will be doing an article.... To me this is the best news since The Stone Roses reformed!

An idea that Ben and the team have had is that on the roof any 968 owner (or indeed any Porsche/transaxle) can get their name on the roof and maybe registration number or picture of the car for a small contribution, do you think there'd be interest on here? I know I will be up for that but - so what do people think??

Will also be an opportunity to win a track day at silverstone in the race car likely to be for 4/5 winners/drivers on the day but still plenty of laps and some free training with a race instructor by your side, again will report back when I have more info.

Hope some 968 or other Porsche owners can make the day/night as I think it's going to be a great 24 hours!
