Cause here's my next question. I've got noisy steering. At low (car park speed). After about 1 turn, either way. Doesn't do it at first when cold, but after 30 mins or so of driving. Really feel it through the steering wheel(rubbery, humming, vibration type of feel). Any ideas?
Cheers

Low fluid level or perhaps air in the system? May be worth trying to re bleed it.
Possible engine mount? As it heats up it becomes softer causing it to rest on the steering column?

Just my first thoughts on it.

Alan

Thanks for that, I'll check the level tomorrow. How do you bleed it? Just turn it from lock to lock a few times?

Yep. Take the cap of the reservoir, and with engine running do lock to lock a few times on a smooth surface. Put it back tightly.

Well, I've checked the reservoir and it bearly touches the little dip stick. I must say it is a nasty black colour. Whats the best way to get that stuff out? Big syringe to suck out, then fill, bleed. Then do that again and again until it gets clearer?

I'd be tempted to undo a pipe at the rack and let all the old fluid out. Start the car & turn the wheel a couple of times & it'll pump out what's left , this will be the easiest way then refill with new power steering fluid.

Any idea of how much fluid I need to get. I have no idea of the volume of the pwr steering system

Yes that's the stuff, they seem to have changed the packaging & shortened the name but the specifications are the same.
