A few months ago, I managed to snap up a 1988 Guards red 944 Turbo 220 bhp from the lancashire area. It needs a substantial amount of work on the sills, the front wings, a respray and a lot of TLC but it was the right thing to keep me from mischief whilst I am divorcing.
I liked the spec, with Airco and various bits and pieces, and I have managed to score an absolute immaculate black leather sport seat and rear bench combo for it.
But the clincher was the Northern Irish dateless registration this carries since its last owner: JAZ4296. I asked: " why jaz"?
The vendor told me: " My uncle, whose car it was for the last 5 years, loved Jazz."
The "exact" same story as for the reg on my Carrera 3 targa, so, that did it. As it happens, I happen to like Jazz as well.
I'm trawling through the paperwork and found paper bills all the way back to 1998, and obviously its fully stamped service book. For those former owners who might be wondering what is going to happen: It'll get a whole new lease of life.
