Can anyone advise me what's the best thing to do. Porsche machanic said don't bother as they are noisy but still work and cost mega bucks to replace. But I don't want to go down the manual route as I am putting things back to original condition. Cheers |

Most motors are able to be serviced, if they can be stripped down they probably need a new bearing or two and some fresh grease I did my windscreen wiper motor as it was very noisy £3 for a new bearing and some lub and now it's nice and quiet |

Can the hood mechanism be stripped and serviced, I wonder? |

What's the actual problem that you're trying to solve? Mine is noisy, but it just sounds mechanical, rather than there's something wrong. Is something sticking? Is it extra noisy at a specific point? Cheers, Bryan |

My mech had been disconnected when I got the car, TBH it's not such an arseache to have it 'manual' ... |

It works ok, might be a bit slow but i haven't got anything to compare it to. Just noisy throughout the movement and i want it to be tip top. Sometimes it needs a little helping hand to get it moving. Noise is coming from the mechanism on the sides briggy wrote: What's the actual problem that you're trying to solve? To get mine going, after unlocking the clips from the inside, I give it push, so that it's clear of the body. I've had mine 3 years and the noise or operation has not changed in any way. I also have nothing to compare to, but it all works just fine. Cheers, Bryan |
