Hi guys, does anyone know if you really need the first silencer in the exhaust? Had mine removed and straight through stainless pipe fitted but feels like a top end flat spot. This may have already been there and only noticed listening to exhaust sound or is it lack of back pressure?

Most 944s sound nicer but don't perform as well with the resonator removed.
