Post subject:  Lop-sided suspension

After a monumental clear-out and 8 trips to the tip, the garage is almost ready to start belts, pump, head gasket, seals, etc.

Was amazed the car started first time with a new battery after a two year lay-up. I pulled it out of the garage to turn it around to get ready for stripping it all but noticed that the suspension is lop-sided - the drivers side of the car is noticeably lower than the nearside

I know it has a broken drop link, but surely its more than that.

Haven't had the chance to look at it yet, but any idea what might be the cause?

more likely that the pistons on the shocks have rust and are seized.
Try bouncing hard on each corner to see if it budges and settles down, most likely the higher side is the problem if it is the shocks

If it's the rear it could be a lazy torsion bar, quite common on the drivers side too.

Had a quick look and shocks appear to be ok.

It looks very much like it is the offside rear which is sagging most. Never heard of lazy torsion bar issue before. What causes that and what is the fix?

Many thanks,

Dave.

There's a few posts on here, different keywords in the search will pull up a few more results.

Thanks for that. Very helpful. Hopefully it can be adjusted out.

I'll add that to the growing list after the belts, seals, pump, etc, etc, etc

Bring on the warmer weather
